05/12/05: S2 brings entrepreneurs together! We love success stories like this one; it’s proof that S2 is an important part of our business community. S2 has previously reported on both the recent opening of the downtown Sarasota/ Rosemary District boutique and gallery, Everything but the Girl, and on the success of local Sarasota designer Adrien Lucas, whose hand-crafted handbags were recently featured on HGTV. These two entrepreneurs sent us a note yesterday, stating that they found one another as the direct result of the S2 Report, and now have created an exciting new business opportunity. On Friday night, May 20, the store is hosting an open house featuring Lucas from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Then, on June 4, from 10:00 am to noon, Lucas will be offering a D.I.Y. workshop at Everything but the Girl – for $25, you will receive your own wristlette purse making kit and Lucas will provide instruction. 5/19/05: TOMORROW, May 20: Adrien Lucas at Everything but the Girl: Handbag designer Adrien Lucas will be at Everything but the Girl tomorrow night to display and talk about her limited edition handbags, most recently featured on HGTV. Other local artists who will be sharing their wares: Bon Fehling, creating “faux tattoos;” Heidi and Lori from HiLo Studios with their retro pillows; and Anita Blackwell with her pottery.
